Seattle has a wonderful mixture of large department stores and smaller
independent shops where you can always find something interesting. The
best shopping is concentrated in downtown, belltown, and between Pike's
Market and Pioneer Square
Pike's Market
No visit to Seattle would be complete without a stop at Pike's Market - even
if you're not in the market for fish, fruit or flowers enjoy walking
through.
Nordstrom 1617 6TH Ave
(206) 628-2111
Nordstrom started in Seattle and has a huge flagship store downtown.
The shoe department is the real gem in this store - expect to find brands
like Prada, Gucci, Chanel and more. The personal shopper department is their
busiest - stop in for some personal attention.
Mario's Seattle 1513 6th Ave (206) 223-1461
High end men's and women's fashion. Expect to find Hugo Boss, Dolce
and Gabbana, Prada and more
REI
222 Yale Ave N (206) 470-4020
Like Nordstrom, REI started in Seattle and has a flagship store just off of
the Stewart Street exit of I5. This store has become a tourist
destination in itself. Not only does it have gear for every imaginable
sports activity, but it also has a huge multi-story climbing rock that
literally stopped traffic on I5 when it was first unveiled
Ped
1115 1st Ave (206) 292-1767
You'll find lots to try on in this funky little shoe store between Pike's
market and Pioneer Square
Elliot Bay Bookstore 101 S. Main St (206) 624-6600
Forget the big chain stores and head to a store where the staff actually
reads. Second in my heart only to Powell's (in Portland) it's easy to
spend an hour or more browsing through the stacks at Seattle's largest
independent bookseller.
Gene
Juarez
601 Pine St Seattle
My favorite Seattle spa. Pedicures are done in a private room in a "Pedicure bed"
where you'll lie back and relax while you get your feet massaged, buffed and
polished. Body treatments, like the aromatic body polish can be
preceded (and followed) by a special rain shower! Also a great hair
salon
Habitude at the Locks
2801 NW Market
A Seattle favorite year after year. Try the ultimate facial where your
hands and feet get some special attention while your face is getting the
works
Frenchy's
3131 E Madison St Ste 103
Best manicures and pedicures in town at this unpretentious day spa where
you'll sit on couches and talk with friends while you get your nails done.
Ummelina International Day Spa
1525 4th Ave
Unique treatments with an international theme. Try one of their
"Journeys" where you'll get pampered with a succession of treatments all
following the same theme.
Spa
at Willow's Lodge
14580 NE 145th St
A bit further afield, this spa is the perfect place to relax or get your
hair done if you're
headed to the Herbfarm for dinner - it's right next door
