This is a little taste of Ormskirk and the life we lead in England as students....
This is a glance down our road, Ruff Lane.  This road is known by heart as it leads into town, which holds the shoping, grocery store, and the bus station.  I am sure any of us could walk it blind folded! It's a nice little walk though, unless you are tired and just want to be home!

The blue and white sign is to the hospital.
I know I have one in my room. You check to see if it is in stock at the designated places and then you take your slip up to the desk, pay, and your purchase will come to you on a conveyor belt.  Fun, eh? I personally haven't boughten anything, but I know loads of people that have.  Fun to go to anyway and if you are bored the catalog holds lots!
This is just a small part of town.  Not one of the most fequently traveled to, but a nice part non the less.  "What everyone wants" can be described as a Getto Wal-mart. (But hey I bought jeans there, 4 for a per... good price).  Yes, Yes, we have a McDonald's!  And Argos.  Ah yes let me explain that one.  This is a shop by catolog store.  You can go into any home and ask for an Argos catalog and I am sure they will have one.
This is Emily, I know she doesn't look to happy, but I am sure she is thrilled to death.  She is sitting in the town centre on a Saturday Market Day. The road is covered with booths from socks to car tyres (English spelling for all you Americans). You can get some great prices, but don't get taken for! The people are all in a bustle too.  Emily is also holding Ernest, the name given for Jeremy's back pack.  Don't ask it's a long story.
How we occupy our free time (the little bit that we got)....
You can usually find us in one room or another.  This night Jeremy, Erin, and Anjuli were playing card to occupy their time.  Not sure what game they are playing, but it must be exciting or not! "Who's winning guys?"
Another fun activity is climbing the fire escape from one end of the house to the other.  Here you see me (Day) climbing up to my side of the house. Hey, it's much quicker and easier then walking from the other end to my end, especial since my room is just 5 feet from the fire escape.  It's too much fun, but be careful it's a long way down if you fall!
AND FINALLY......
Back at Roberts we have Garlock games to keep us entertained doing dinner.  Here we have Terrace games.  Jeremy caught onto this idea very quickly and here he demonstrates his talents with the cup stacking event.  "Wow what talent.. give him a hand folks."  Some other of the games have been sandwhich sculptures, mix food combo sculpture and oh so many more. We do have good table manners HONEST!
HOME
Em and Anjuli sitting in the Terrace Cafe at dinner.

"Yum!!"

"What's for tea (dinner)?"

"Hash, Bangers and Mash, Sheppards Pie, or maybe some beans?"

"NOO, I know Toasties!"
Isn't this church just beautiful.  I believe this is one of the oldest churches (at least in Ormskirk).  This is at the end of the town and what a wonderous site.

Little story for you.  The first weekend in England, a couple of us decided to go to church, this one.  So off we go... misjudging the time it took to walk into town, we were late.  Oh only a good 15 - 20 minutes.  So after finding the entrance we headed inside to find the massive sancuary empty, except the small group of old people in the choir area.  So we try to quietly sit in the back of the churhc.  No No.. the minister had to see us and stopped the service and told us to come and join them.  So we walk all the way up to the front of the church and try to find seats, which of course there were none.  But all in all the people were quite friendly afterward.  And it gives for a great story and laugh.
