About Mr. Varsity
The amount of genres that collectively make up rock n' roll music are almost infinite. Rock is anything and everything in between punk, ska, hardcore, metal, blues, and a number of categories on a list that seems to grow with each day. Mr. Varsity is a rock n' roll band through and through. They come from a wide variety of musical backgrounds and styles that allow them to concoct ideas that blend most of the aforementioned styles of rock music. They enjoy it thoroughly and never take writing or playing their music lightly or for granted.
Mr. Varsity formed a rough version of itself in early May of 2001. The line up consists of Drew Bond on guitar/vocals, Bob McKnight on guitar/vocals, Dan Drennen on drums, and Rich OToole on bass guitar. Since their first recording and beginning shows they have had a decent following. They have gained over 22,000 plays on mp3.com in a little over a year. They won their way on to the Vans Warped Tour in 2002 through a battle of the bands put on by Ernie Ball. They have shared the stage with bands such as The Suicide Machines, Stretch Arm Strong, Don't Look Down, The Spitvalves, Unsung Zeros, Glasseater, Never Heard Of It, and Mashlin. This is a small compilation of their accomplishments and they only strive to accomplish more.
Few words can sum up Mr. Varsity, but two definitely come to mind: Dedication and potential. They are dedicated to the cause of spreading rock music and have the potential to grow and become something great. Mr. Varsity will not stop until they have made themselves heard. Well, we made ourselves heard, and then we broke up.
Mr. Varsity would like to thank two individuals for their contribution to the band throughout the years. Thank you Aaron Joly (former Bass Player) and Nick "SpAz" Malara (former Singer). Thank you for everything you've done for the band.
