CURRICULUM
Each week we concentrate on a different theme. Many of our activities revolve around this theme (stories, crafts, music, ect.). I am trying to set up my curriculum to repeat every two years so that each child will receive the maximum benefit from each unit without growing tired of the subject.
Some of the topics we will be learning about are: Numbers, ABC's, Colors, Shapes, Recognize and write their names, ect. Each child learns at a different pace, being a home daycare provider it allows me to have smaller groups. With smaller groups I can concentrate on where a child needs more attention in a specific area.
Fall and Winter time are spent more inside, so a more structured learning time is emplemented. With the Summer months the weather usually aloows us to enjoy lots of outside play time, doing so, we are tackling our larger moter skills with the outside playing equipment. Also being outside enables us to learn more about nature, gardens, ect. Toddlers and Pre-schoolers are eager to learn so every opportunity is taken to keep their minds active with information on education and motor skills.
