| SLAVERY IN THE BIBLE We can find many verses in the Bible, which support slavery, even Bible orders to inherit the slave, which is a disgrace of humanity: (Leviticus 25:44-46) Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly. What the Western Human Rights workers say about the above verses??? The above verses even permit to make some one a slave for whole life. Bible also permits a man to sell his daughter as a slave, even as a sex-slave: (Exodus 21:7-8) And in case a man should sell his daughter as a slave girl, she will not go out in the way that the slave men go out. If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master so that he doesn't designate her as a concubine but causes her to be redeemed, he will not be entitled to sell her to a foreign people in his treacherously dealing with her. Bible also permits the violence to the slave. Bible says that the master should beat the slave but only to not beat him so severely that the slave would die, otherwise it is OK: (Exodus 21:20-21) If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property. The above verses clearly permit to severely beat the slave, so that the slave would fall unconscious & would get up after one or two days, because of the severe wounds! And the most inhuman thing is that Bible declares the slave as the Property of the master. What if the slave-girl would become pregnant by her master? Because Bible permits sex-slavery, so it is possible for the slave-girl to become pregnant &have a child. So what her child's status would be? Would the child get inheritance from his illegal father? The following verses describe the solution of the same matter: (Galatians 4:28-31) Now you, brothers, like Isaac, are children of promise. At that time the son born in the ordinary way persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. "But what does the Scripture say? 'Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman's son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman's son.' "Therefore, brothers, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman. Bible commands the slaves to respect their masters, even if they are harsh with them, and they should always obey them in all matters: (1 Peter 2:18) Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. (Titus 2:9) Bid slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect. (Colossians 3:22) Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. The following verse claims that God commands to sell the people & supports slavery: (Joel 3:8) And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the Lord hath spoken it. According to the Bible, if the master arranges the marriage of his slave, and he would have children, then the children would also be the property of the master: (Exodus 21:2-4) If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve; and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. If he came in by himself, he shall go out free by himself; if he were married, then his wife shall go out free with him. If his master have given him a wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. The following verse commands to take women & children as war-spoils: (Deuteronomy 20:14) But the women and the little ones and the cattle, and all in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself." Not just the Old Testament, but the New Testament also commands to violently beat the slave: (Luke 12:47-48) And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. The New Tetament says that even the high priest also had several maids: (Mark 14:66) And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest. The New Testament supports slavery: (Colossians 4:1) Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven. (1 Timothy 6:1) All who are under the yoke of slavery , should consider their masters worthy of full respect, so that God's name and our teaching may not be slandered. (NIV Bible) Bible gives the same value to the slave & the animal: (Exodus 23:12) Six days do your work, but on the seventh day do not work, so that your ox and your donkey may rest and the slave born in your household, and the alien as well, may be refreshed. Bible supports racism, because according to Bible, making Israelites as slave is forbidden, but they can make slaves from the other nations: (Deuteronomy 24:7) If a man is caught kidnapping one of his brother Israelites and treats him as a slave or sells him, the kidnapper must die. You must purge the evil from among you. (Leviticus 25:39) If one of your countrymen becomes poor among you and sells himself to you, do not make him work as a slave. (Leviticus 25:44-46) Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly. In the above verses Bible clearly commands that Israelites should not make slave of their countrymen, bu the other nations around the Israelites |
