| JESUS' COWARD DISCIPLES None of the disciples witness Jesus' (PBUH) Crucifixion. None of Jesus' disciples witnessed Jesus' crucifixion, because they all were afraid. Even when Jews came to arrest Jesus (PBUH), his disciples were there, but they all fled saving their lives & leaving Jesus (PBUH) alone to die! (Matthew 26:55-56) At that time Jesus said to the crowd, "Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching, and you did not arrest me. But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled." Then all the disciples deserted him and fled. The above verses show that how Jesus' disciples were sincere with him, they left him to die for saving themselves! Then how could such disciples be trustworthy if they leave their master to die and run away by themselves fearing their death? And if their belief was strong in Jesus (PBUH) then they never tried to flee by believing that Jesus, who was according to them God's Son, will save them. But their belief in Jesus was doubtful, that's why they fled, by knowing that no one can save them from the Jews, even the Son of God! The most interesting and funny side of that event is that among those disciples, one had been caught by the Jews, and he tried to escape, but Jews held him tightly. Even later his all clothes were tore by the Jews, and he fled nudely! (Mark 14:48) And Jesus answered and unto them "Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords, and with staves to take me? I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not; but the scriptures must be filfilled." And they all (disciples) left him and fled. And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about his naked body; and the young men laid hold on him. And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked. After fleeing, one disciple Peter looked back & followed them from very far away, with fear of the Jews: (Matthew 26:58) But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end. Later the servants of the palace recognized Peter and said him that he is a companion of Jesus, but Peter denied and said he doesn't recognize Jesus: (Matthew 26:69-74) Now Peter sat without in the palace; and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. But he denied before them all, saying I know not what thou sayest. And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This (fellow) was also with Jesus of Nazareth. And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art (one) of them; for thy speech bewrayth thee. Then began he to curse and to swear, (saying) I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. Jesus' (PBUH) all disciples were vanished for many days, no one dared to come to see Jesus (PBUH). Later other people told them about the crucifixion of Jesus, so they wrote their gospels according to other peoples' describing stories of Jesus' crucifixion. That's why all of their gospels differ from each other. Disciple of little faith. (Mattew 14:30-31) But when he (Peter) saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink; he cried, saying "Lord, save me" And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" In the above verse Jesus (PBUH) himself called his disciple "of little faith" and "having doubt" And because of this little faith & doubt they left Jesus alone to die. Jesus' (PBUH) disciple, a Satan. (Matthew 16:22-23) Then Peter took him (Jesus) and began to rebuke him, saying "Be it far from thee, Lord; this shall not be unto thee" But he (Jesus) turned and said unto Peter "Get thee behind me, Satan, thou art an offence unto me; for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." It shows that how much Jesus was sick of his disciples! Fearing disciples! (Matthew 16:6-7) And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid. And Jesus came and touched them, and said "Arise, and be not afraid." Coward disciples! Unbelief of disciples. (Matthew 17:19-20) Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said "Why could not we cast him out?" And Jesus said unto them '"ecause of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain 'Remove hence to yonder place' and it shall remove, and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Jesus (PBUH) in the above verses confessed that his disciples had poor belief, that's why they were failed to cast out a powerful ghost . And Jesus said them that if they had a little faith as little as a grain of mustard seed, they could cast out the ghost. It means that the disciples didn't even have the faith as small as the grain of mustard seed. One disciple caused the death of Jesus (PBUH). (Matthew 26:14-15) Then one of the twelve (disciples), called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests. And said unto them "What will ye give me, and I will deliver him (Jesus) unto you?" And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. It was a disciple who caused the crucifixion of Jesus (PBUH), though he was very close to Jesus. But he sold Jesus' life for only 30 pieces of silver! Another disciple also offended Jesus (PBUH). (Matthew 26:33-34) Peter answered and said unto him "Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended" Jesus said unto him "Verily I say unto thee, that this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice." It was Peter who lied about Jesus (PBUH). Disciples' narrow-mindedness. (Matthew 26:6-10) Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper. There came unto him a woman, having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying "To what purpose is this waste? For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor." When Jesus understood it, he said unto them "Why trouble ye the woman? For she hath wrought a good work upon me." Disciples were so narrow-minded that they were angry on that woman who pleased Jesus (PBUH) by showing her sympathy and devotion to Jesus. Jesus (PBUH) was sick of his disciples. (Mark 8:17-18) And when Jesus knew because it, he saith unto them (disciples) "Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? Perceive ye not yet, neither understand? Have ye your heart yet hardened? Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?" (Mark 8:21) And he (Jesus) said unto them (disciples) "How is it that ye do not understand?" Another proof of disciples' little faith on Jesus (PBUH). (John 6:60-61) Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said "This is a hard saying; who can hear it?" When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them "Doth this offend you? |
