The Silver Surfers

My friend Greg has his own band called "The Silver Surfers". They play at a couple of local pubs and although they haven't got a 'regular' gig, they do play at The Continental Hotel in Claremont, fairly regularly. As they were starting to do some serious gigs he came to me and asked me to knock up a couple of posters for the band.
These images were compiled (I won't say created) with Photoshop 3.0.5. Click on the thumbnails for larger versions.

We started with a raw scan of Joe Satriani's "Surfing with the Alien" CD cover and removed the background.

�On the 'net we found another scan from a Silver Surfer comic and decided to see what that would look like. We didn't like it much.

�The cropped scan worked fine. The white box is for the name of venue and appearance date to be written in.

�I learnt how to use Photoshop's skew and distort tools and had a go at the band name.

�The final image without the box made it onto the desktop of Greg's Win95 machine.
