My recent trip to India..
We traveled to the far northern India to the refugee city of Dharmsala.  Perched in the high Himalayas, the city is the home of the Dhali Lama and the Tibet Government in Exile.  The city has become a mecca for Buddists and others seeking spiritual enlightenment.  The city has evolved into a kind of spiritual shangra-la.
Orphaned Tibetian children.
The flag of Tibet, a nation in exile because of Communist China.
A portion of Dharmshala seen among the high Himalyas.
The Norbolinka Institute: an internationally sponsored project to preserve the Tibetan arts and culture from extermination.  We stayed at this guest house while in Dharmshala.
Flags etched with wishes for peace send thousands of prayers to the wind in Dharmshala.
All through these high hills, small Buddist shrines are carved into the sheer rock face.
