"Barely a Handful!!"

Barely a Handful!!

This photo was taken of Sean just an hour or so after his birth.
That's his Daddy, Jon, standing next to him.
Sean weighed only 1 pound 6 ounces at birth,
and was only 13 inches long.

"See How Tiny I Was!"
2/14/98

See How Tiny . . .

This is me at 2 days old (February 14, 1998) on my first Valentine's Day. (That's mommy's hand on my leg.) I was SOOOOOO small, huh? Just 1# 6oz and 13 inches long.

"First Time Mommy Gets to Hold Me"
3/5/98

First Time . . .

I was 3 weeks old this day. This is the first time my mommy got to hold me. Three weeks was an awfully long wait for the both of us, I'll tell ya!! My daddy was pretty scared to hold me, though. He wouldn't do it until I was well over 2 pounds. He was afraid he'd break something!!! (Silly guy.) :-)

"Our First 'Kangaroo Care'"
3/6/98

Kangaroo Care

This is the first time mommy got to hold me using "Kangaroo Care". That's where the nurses would lay me naked on mommy's bare chest so we could have skin to skin contact. A lot of people think that this helps us micros grow and develop better. I know we sure liked it!! (I was 3 weeks + 1 day.)

"First Time My Big Sister, Emma, Got to Hold Me"
4/15/98

Emma Holds Me . . .

I was 2 months + 3 days old actual (29 weeks +3 days gestational) when this picture was taken. Actually, the first time she held me was 2 weeks earlier, but we weren't able to get a picture then. As you can see, she was terribly proud of me!! She's a great big sister. (Emma was 4 when this was taken.)

"Nearly Home!!"
4/29/98

Almost Home

This photo was taken on April 29, 1998, a VERY LONG 5 days before I got to finally go home with my mommy and daddy. I was in the NICU for 81 days. Thankfully, my nurses were wonderful, and they were all very loving to me, and very kind to my family. I love them all very much, and stop in to see them sometimes. (I was 10 weeks +6 days actual, 35 weeks +6 days gestational the day this photo was taken.)

"My Footprints Compared to Daddy's"
(He was 8#+)

Footprints

This is a photo of my footprints page in my baby book. Shortly after I came home from the hospital, Grandma Fox found my Daddy's footprints. Mommy taped them into my book, also, so she would never forget just how tiny I was. Big difference, isn't there? (My first set of prints was a few days after I was born, the second set was the day I came home.)
