60-Acres Park
From the North:
Take I-5 to I-405, head south to exit 20B (Totem Lake, 124th Street). Take 124th Street east to
Willows Road, turn right (south) to the next light. Turn left at the light (116th Street). Cross the
bridge; the soccer fields will be on your left. You should be able to see the rocket/glider field to
your right. At the east end of the field, there is a small parking lot with a dirt road at the far end -
follow this road, and keep to the right. This will bring you to the launch area.
From the South:
If you are coming on I-5, or from Seattle, take the bridge of your choice and head north on I-405.
Take the Totem Lake/124th exit (20B) and go east on 124th to Willows Road. Follow the
directions as above.
Kent Space Center
-
From I-5 take exit 152 (Orillia Road). Head east on Orillia, down the hill. It curves into 212th St.
Turn left at the third stop light, into the driveway to the Boeing parking lot.
Scan the field between the driveway and West Valley Hwy - the club will be setting up
in the corner best suited to flight conditions of the day. Because of the change in venue, flights will
be limited to C-power engines until further notice.
-
From SR-167, take the 212th exit. Go west past West Valley Highway and turn right at the first light
Crescent Lake (Monroe, WA)
- From Monroe, on US Hwy 2 eastbound, turn right on Lewis Street, at the light next to the
Texaco Mini-mart. There is a sign Fall City and Duvall. Go
through downtown Monroe, observing the 25 mph speed limit and staying on
the same street. After you cross the Snohomish River bridge, go about
2.5 miles further, about 1/2 mile past the Cadman Gravel quarry on your
left. When you enter a grove of poplars, watch for a sign marking the
Washinton State Dept. of Corrections Dairy Farm Facility (aka Honor
Farm), and turn right at the sign (203rd street). Go through the farm grounds, again
observing the 25 mph speed limit. Turn left at the stop sign, go
another quarter mile, and turn sharply back and left onto a farm access
road, then park. Please stay on the left side of the road, as the other side
has buried utility lines, and we have been asked to stay off of them.
-
From Seattle, take SR 522 (this is actually Lake City Way and Bothell Way)
past the interchange with I-405.
Continue past the Interstate on State Route 522 all the way to its
end (after a hairpin turn) at the junction with US Hwy 2. Turn left as
if heading for Stevens Pass, and see above "From Monroe."
- From Everett and points north, take the US Hwy 2 exit from Interstate 5,
and stay on Hwy 2 until you reach Monroe.
- From eastern Washington, along I-90, take the Preston/Fall City exit between
Issaquah and North Bend; look for the Preston-Fall City road and follow it. It will
become the Fall City-Carnation Road, then the Carnation-Duvall road and finally
the Duvall-Monroe road. (North of Fall City, this is SR 203).
Turn left at the intersection of NE 203rd St. --
this is quite hard to spot from this direction; if you reach the Cadman
Gravel quarry on your right, you've gone too far; turn around and pick
up in the middle of the above paragraph (from Monroe) at that point. Once on NE
203rd, go through the farm grounds, turn left at the stop sign, and go
another quarter mile before turning sharply back and left onto a farm
road and parking.
That's all, folks
