| 1. Feed false information to pet project #36
Relena Peacecraft was such an asset. The earth adored her, the colonies listened to her, and she was the darling of Dorothys officers. The only problem was that she continued to remain innocently determined (or perhaps determinedly innocent) and she was so difficult to keep happy. It was a constant battle to keep ones lies and ones truths just far enough apart that Relena slipped through the cracks without realizing she was falling. Pet project # 27 was invaluable in this endeavor. And the best part about Zechs was that he wanted to fight so badly he would convince Relena to justify everything possible so that he could fight with pacifist sanctity. The brilliance of the situation, of course, was that they were both skeptical of Dorothys plans to a fault, but they were never skeptical at the same time. Thus, one always provided credible council for battle. Dorothy entered Relenas sitting room to find the minister reading a military report as Zechs idly stroked her hair and read over her shoulder. Dorothy again wished they would admit their feelings to each other. On the other hand, she reflected, it was always possible that they didnt have repressed feelings and she just assumed that, because she found them both attractive, they must feel the same way about each other. Either way, Relena wasnt likely to suddenly approve of incest. No blonde threesomes for Dorothy. But probably for the best; one could only have so many lovers. Im glad you received that report, Miss Relena. Ive just come to ask your advice. Relena looked up and smile wanly as she said, Yes, we must discuss it. I suppose we cannot ignore the situation Are you sure that all of the suits positioned to attack L5 are without human pilots? I have had several sources confirm that information. I can show you the individual reports if the summary is not satisfactory. When Relena continued to look anxiously at the report, Dorothy handed her another file. This is the whole of the information we have amassed. We wont add to the enemys casualties, at least. Relena took it reluctantly and turned the pages slowly. Then almost desperately, Dorothy, I just dont think that we should engage in robotic warfare. The implications This violence could continue indefinitely if theres no pressure on Zaibach to put a stop to the death toll. I know its dangerous, Miss Relena, Dorothy schooled her features to her Relena-hypnotizing expression. But a swift defeat of their automated mobile suits is the best way to check this trend. Im afraid we must strike before they attack L5. No, Dorothy. We cant strike preemptively. We must defend L5 with the fewest casualties possible. We will have to destroy those suits before they attack. Of course, Miss Relena. Im so glad to have your advice. Do you wish to discuss the reports with our intelligence personnel? Nono, this will do, she sighed heavily. I think I ought to talk with the pilots. Dorothy nodded her head sympathetically and turned her gaze on Zechs. I will accompany my sister. He smiled and offered Relena an arm. Dorothy nodded her approval. Yes, you always improve their morale, Zechs. Im sure you will find the right thing to say. * * * A soft noise caught Relenas attention as she finished her most recent stirring speech to the gundam pilots. She turned to see Col. Une waiting unobtrusively off to the side. Excuse me, Ambassador Peacecraft, but the delegates from L2 have arrived and are eager to speak with you. Oh, of course. Thank you. She turned quickly to the pilots. Be careful out there. And with a fit to wrench Heero Yuys heart, she left the room. Col. Une closed the door with a decisive click and turned to face Zechs and the other pilots. At her nod, Zechs commenced his own, slightly more informative speech. The pilots were well aware that Relena did not have the same security clearance that they enjoyed. None of them were remorseful about that fact. |
