Miss Swarna Vongala

(Foundress of the Catholic Indian Orphanage named Society of Servi Domini - formerly known as Nav Jeevan)

It is one

of the most

beautiful story of

confidence in

Divine Providence

I witnessed in all

my years as a priest.

--Fr. Daniel Couture, SSPX

 (in relating to

Swarna's courage

about the Orphanage)

In a way

she (Swarna)

realizes that

sentence of

Solomon: "The

ornament of

the woman is

her silence"

-- Fr. Francois Chazal, SSPX

Swarna had just studied computer engineering in Iowa and had a nice paying job but she decided to create an orphanage on 2001, as her love for the abandoned Indians prompted her heart to do so. She decided to care for them in a way that they'd be nourished -- spiritually and physically. That's why when she learned of Catholic Tradition (sometime around late 2004 or January 2005) through her cousin, Swarna was determined to move the orphanage from Cuddapah to Palayamkottai where the SSPX has a priory. Safeguarded now by the many wonderful graces that the Sacraments bestow, Swarna's orphanage is beginning to reap yet another milestone!

Year 2007 saw the taking of the habit of the foundress (see above photos). She is now under the congregation of the Consoling Sisters of the Sacred Heart and since then has a religious name: Sor Maria Immaculata della Croce.

Tibi Laus, Tibi Gloria, Tibi Gratiarum Actio! Sacrificium nostrum acendat ad te Domine et descendat super nos misericordia tua! Amen.
