Sea Cucumber
mouth of a sea cucumber
My rich uncle died and left me a large sum of money. Since I love swimming, biology, and feeding peopleI decided to try fish farming. My uncle loved sea cucumbers so I chose to raise them in his memmory. With my money I decided to but some land in Hawaii to start my farm. On this land many creatures share the same home. There are sea urchins, octopuses, and many kinds of fish. All of these animals live in shollow waters where there is warm water and little current. Since sea cucumbers live in relativly shallow water I wont need much land. Sea cucumbers are filter feeders. they eat plankton, kelp or any other microorganisms that pass by. Sea cucumbers can live in either warm or cold water it will do just fine in its new home. The adults have few predators which are only three species of sea stars. When I buy my land there will most likely be many of these animals living there. It takes a sea cucumber 5-6 years to reach sexual maturity. There is a catch though. As an adolecant it is in larval form. If I run low on my product I could collect the sperm and the eggs and raise them in an aquarium until they become adults. The main attraction to my place will be that anyone can get their food. The customer can go snorkling to get what they want. I will call my business "Fishing For Cucumbers".
