| Family: Ephippidae Scientific name: Eohippus orbis (Bloch) Local name: Pelutu Distribution: Shallow coastal waters to about 40m depth Size commonly caught: 15-20cm total length Notes: Body almost circular, deep and strongly compressed. Has 4-5 vertical black bands running from the dorsal fins almost to its belly. Not abundant, being occasionally caught by bottom trawls in shallow coastal waters. |
