Notes:

This fish is first boiled in brine and dried and is therefore usually sold in the dried form. Smaller dried individuals fetch higher price than the larger ones. In the east coats states of Penin sular Malaysia, this fish is fermented and made into a fish sauce "budu" which is served as a condiment at meals.
