| Family: Lutjanidae Scientific name: Lutjanus russelli (Bleeker) Local name: Tanda Distribution: Shallow coastal waters to about 40m depth Size commonly caught: 20-30cm total length Notes: Has a dark blotch above its lateral line below the junction of the soft and spinous parts of dorsal fin. Body with 6-7 yellowish/orange longitudinal stripes. Pelvic and anal fins yellow. Very common around coral reefs. Sold fresh. |
