Notes:
A common and abundant species wich occurs in large groups in shallow and coastal waters. Has a sharp formwar-projecting spine in front of dorsal fin. All fin spines are conected to poison glends. Body has a large dark blotch behind upper plart of gill cover below the lateral line. Numerous pale spots are present on the back and sides of fish. Sold fresh. Generally little demand in the market but ripe female fetch a high price in Singapore during the Chinese New Year period. |
