| Family: Carangidae Scientific name: Decapterus macrosoma (Bleeker) Local name: Selayang, Curut Distribution: Coastal waters to about 80m depth Size commonly caught: 14-16cm total length Notes: Looks very similar to the round scad axcept for the less pronounced and shorter scute length along the posterior portion of its lateral line. Body also more slender than the round scad. Usually caught together with round scad. Sold fresh and dried-salted. |
