Notes:
Traditionally caught by purse seine boats operating without lures. These boats scout for fish group on moonless nights. Fish are caught when betrayed by their phosphorescence in the dark. However since the mid-seventies the high-opening trawl has been contributing to a large proportion of the catch of this fish. Sold fresh as well as cooked in brine. |
