Notes
:
Body of fish silvery white with blue/grey back. Has a large terminal oblique mouth without any outstanding canine teeth. Lateral line scales reaching to tip of caudal fin. A fairly small species. A very common jewfish caught by bottom trawls in coastal muddy waters. Sold fresh or dried-salted. Cost more when sold dried-salted than fresh.
