Gentlemen For Hire - One And A Half

Scene 1
Setting: Near a strip mall stands a phone booth

Characters:
	- Jeff Meyerhoff
	- Jim Brown

Jim enters from the side and looks around very confused and glancing down at a piece of paper he's holding he crosses a phonebooth and finds a hobo laying in front of the phone booth.
The hobo rolls over with a bottle in his hand.
Jim walks up to the hobo kicks him a little.
The hobo rolls over all the way and it's Jeff.

Jeff (screaming): What do you need?!

Jim: I'm looking for Gentlemen For Hire.

Jeff: Then you're an asshole!

Jim: So you know what it is?

Jeff: Yeah, I know what that is. It's crap.

Jim (squatting down next to Jeff): Well I'm looking for Tim Brown.

Jeff: He doesn't work here anymore, I fired him a long time ago.

Jim: So you must be Jeff.

Jeff: It happens to the best of us...

Jim: Do you know where Tim is?

Jeff: I haven't a damn clue!

Jim: Well can you help me find him?

Jeff: What's it worth to you?

Jim: About a hundred bucks and a free lunch.

Jeff: pfft, I can't argue with that. Excuse me for a moment.

[
 Jeff gets up while still holding the blanket covering most of his body he enters the phone booth
 He then covers the view of his entire body with the blanket
 He then drops the blanket and is perfectly groomed, shaven, and dressed
]

Jim: Sweet!

Jeff: What did you say your name was again?

Jim: Jim Brown

Jeff: Oh I get it, family. Can I call ya Jimmy?

Jim: If you must.

Jeff: Alright Jimmy step into my office.

[ Jim hesitates but Jeff looks at him seriously so he enters the cramped phonebooth ]

Jeff: Ok bad idea let's sit down.

Jim: Good idea.

[ Jeff pulls two folding chairs that were in his phonebooth out and sets them up and sits down ]

Jeff: Please be seated.

Jeff: So a hundred bucks, eh? He must really be missing if some guy is trying to track him down... family or not.

Jim: When was the last time you saw him?

Jeff: Well that last time I saw him was when I kicked him out on his ass.

[ Replay Gentlemen For Hire final scene as a flashback ]

Jeff: That's pretty much exactly how it happend.

Jim: Do you know where could be?

Jeff: Not exactly, but that doesn't mean I can't find him. I'll get back with some 'o my contacts  and check up on 'im.

Jim: If you don't mind me asking... what happend to Gentlemen For Hire?

Jeff: Well basically my biggest business partner got busted.

[ Flashback of Graff getting dragged into a car by two henchmen while they yell at him to shut up and he's resisting and screaming ]

Jeff: ...after that pretty much anyone associated with him got flagged and their credibility in the underground was forever lost... So here we are.

Jim: Oh I see... and Tim got out before that so he's safe.

Jeff: Oh yeah! That jerk's probably livin' high 'n dry right now!

Jeff: Anyway... if you're really serious about this... where the hell's my lunch?!
