| The Cynical Phoenix
(M. Sheppard and J. Shaw) Yet another tale of rags to riches; the poor man now up on his feet. No longer is he digging ditches but filling them with concrete. And as the phoenix watches over this man who she has helped she cannot help but wonder if it were all a plan for wealth. Was this rising from the flames just one elaborate plan to multiply the gains of another selfish man? Everyone seems to use me; it seems a little funny how people will fall into the ashes just to make some long-term money. So all around she flies, pulling the needy up and out but they all seem to tell such lies. Oh whats it all about This phoenix is confused, Oh whats with all these plans? Whats a bird to do with another immoral man? Everyone seems to use her; it just seems a little funny how people will fall into the dirt just to make themselves some money. Its silly games like this that can turn a person cynical. Its selfish games like this that can turn a bird cynical. Its immoral games like this that can turn the world cynical. Are you happy you corporate drips? Youve turned the phoenix cynical! Shes a cynical phoenix; all her trust in man is gone. Shes the cynical phoenix; all their motives seem so wrong. |
