The Gibson Residence

Location: Laura's house is located in Barwon Heads, right next door to the now-demolished boat shed. Barwon Heads is located south-easterly from Geelong, and is approximately a 1.5 - 2 hour drive from Melbourne.

Its Role in SeaChange: We have learnt that Laura, Jack, Miranda and Rupert first visited the Pearl Bay in happier times when Laura and Jack were still together. This family holiday left its mark on Laura, and when Jack and Laura divorced, there was only one place that Laura could think of to go - back to Pearl Bay. She bought this house via a telephone auction and moved here almost instantly with Miranda and Rupert. Since then there have been many happenings here. There was the night that she 'slept' with Max when he was so loaded up with antihistamines that he passed out (Kitty Litter), and the time that Rupert and Trevor decided to build a rocket using plans downloaded off the internet (Playing with Fire).

History: 'Laura's House' can be rented out to the general public, but there is quite a long queue to join (approx. 2 year waiting list). However many of these renters are suprised when they step inside to realise that the interior looks nothing like that of the interior of house that they see on television. This is due to all of the scene's involving the interior of the house being shot in the ABC's studios in Elsternwick.
