| SNL REVIEWS | ||||||||||||||||
| I have a lot of reviews that I've done so far this year. After six months of the existence of this new thread, I have make time to put them in its own separate page. Well, on this page is one of many. Enjoy | ||||||||||||||||
| Megan Mullally/Clay Aiken | ||||||||||||||||
| NIGHTLINE Finally! Its great to see that SNL is taking advantage of Darrell still being on the cast. Ted Koppels back, and in a well-written and well-put cold opening. They took the biggest headline of the week, and make it look good without ruining it. 100/100 MONOLOGUE I wouldnt say that Megan confused Ruben for Clay; it was just her way of bringing the snark here. But this was so looking like a dub of Candace Bergens monologue. Shut up, Clay Studdard! 80/100 BRAVO POKER Apart from Darrell as Rivera, this was KINDA bad. 60/100 COMMERCIAL No comment. IM 12 Im still not sure whether I was laughing very hard at this sketch due to being drunk or because it was idiotically funny. Maybe Ill put the bar in the middle, but someone from the 80s and early nineties writing cast did not write this. 70/100 Original score Plus 10 for Amy and Seth being here GOLDEN GLOBE Perfect! 100/100 OPRAH Im not sure whether I was laughing very hard to tears at this sketch due to being drunk or because the fact that I was drunk led me to tears here. Basically that meant that this was too funny for words. Someone from the 80s and early nineties writing cast wrote this. 100/100 Original score minus 1 (for no Jeff Richards on SNL today) plus 1 (for someone being taken out on a gurney). TAXI DRIVER CONFESSIONS This kind of suffered. For one thing, it followed the best skit (of 2004) ever, but ITA with everyone on how TPTB relies on race for laughs here. Its just a little sad. 60/100 AND NOW HERE IS TONIGHTS VERY SPECIAL MUSICAL GUEST Shut up, Ruben Aiken? 78/100 SATURDAY NIGHT NEWS One of the better updates! The jokes on Meg Ryan were on point, and the same goes for the jokes on Timberlake and other things. To top it off, Rachel as Barbara was better than ever for people portraying her (even though it was no Baba Waba), and the American Idol thing was just hilarious (almost to the level of the Oprah segment). 100/100 WIZARD OF OZ Pink Floyd + Darrell = 100/100 ZINGER This is back! Nice! Its like the one on Alec Baldwins show, except, not as funny. 90/100 MUSIC Hes not that bad of a musical guest (there have been worse); however, some people might have preferred a 200-foot version of this guy made out of Play-Dough. 62/100 LAST SKETCH No comment. Seriously, did anyone watch this? Overall score 1000 Average: 83.33 Pretty great show! With the Poker skit, I thought it was going to be a crappy show. Then with stuff like Oprah and whatever else, it picked up. Nice! |
