SNL REVIEWS
I have a lot of reviews that I've done so far this year.  After six months of the existence of this new thread, I have make time to put them in its own separate page.  Well, on this page is one of many.  Enjoy
Elijah Wood/Jet
Elijah Wood of all people, hosts the Christmas show (last show of 2003).  Hopefully itll be memorable, just like Flip Wilson and Sally Fields shows 10 and 20 years ago, respectively.

TOP STORY

Nothing really happened over the last week.  Basically, it was the busy season, and I found myself doing nothing entertaining.  Basically, when you save up your sick days, you get the period between Christmas and New Years off every time.  However, that would mean getting all the work done before youre gone for the year.  Thats what the following week will feature, which explains why Im CHILLIN for the Christmas Show.  Also, Bob Barkers birthday bash was on tonight.  Over 300 grand was given away tonight; no million tonight.  Fortunately, theres another special Thursday night.  Thats basically all the Price is Right I watch.  Its not the same anymore; its not as good as it used to be.

Speaking of Christmas, I get to laugh at everyone shopping, because I am done baby!  WOO HOO!  That part of my busy life is done with.  Seriously, I should have gone out, but theres too much to do.  If there was more time and less procrastination, Id be gone, and the rant would not extend into Saturday.

Edited to add: Breaking News.

Normally, whenever I do the rant, I hardly go into Saturday, since the bulk of things occur during the week.  However, I have never gone into Sunday, and today has got to be an exception.  Sadaam being caught?  Whoa.  It caught everyone by surprise, in addition to the fact that it was done without killing him.

Not only am I glad and shocked, I'm glad that it didn't happen, like, yesterday late afternoon, early evening, of all possible times that he could have been caught.

I really hope that we don't boast too much about this. I'm praying that we don't see a scenario a la Air Force One and 24; especially since Bin Laden is still out there.

This is good for Bush, as much as everything goes. IMO, it's a major boost toward a re-election. I'm just hoping that if and when he gets elected, we don't fall back to where we've been in mid-to-late 2005.

The preceding were just my views and opinions, that I may or may not share with others.

It's a great day, no matter what.

WEATHER

This actually helped me make the decision not to go out.  Again, there is snow in the forecast, and Im not taking any chances.  That, and Im trying to save money for a lot of stuff.

SPORTS

Lets see.  All Baltimore has to do is to win one more game and then Pittsburghs out of the playoff race.  All Pittsburgh has to do is lose one more game, and then they are out of the playoff race.  Even if neither one happens, its still mathematically possible that Baltimore (or even Cincinnati) can take the title.  Speaking of titles, Jason White took the title, rather, he took the Heisman Trophy from Larry Fitzgerald.  I believe hes the first quarterback in his section to get the job done.  Despite breaking several records, Fitzgerald was denied the Heisman.  Maybe next year, Larry!

MY GAME

Its all tallied up.  Barring no one actually tallied the scores up on his or her own I know who won.  To break it down, its someone who has already won the game this season.  For the most part, the scores were decent this time around.  Ill have the results up on my web page and everywhere else within the week.

THE SHOW

So, Elijah is hosting.  I guess anything can happen.  Maybe an SNL TOON or ice skating on the rink.  Anyway

And now, the review

HARDBALL

Yes!

100/100

MONOLOGUE

Chris!  What are you doing here?  Yeah, former CM made cameos, but not so often, especially after they were in the cast earlier in the year.  Only Jon Lovitz and Jan Hooks made it work.  Also, Jan didnt really surface in 1991-1992.

60/100

AHAHAHAHAHA

At first, I thought this was a skit that was trying to follow the footsteps of Will and Anas run, but then it went downhill.  However, Will saved it from total disaster, until the end, where it actually picked up a little.

83/100

BRAVO PRESENTS: QUEER EYE

This was alright, I guess.  It could have been better, IMO.

77/100

SNL TOONS

Yay!  I so predicted this.  And its Fun With Real Audio.  Thats the thing about these; the more bizarre, the funnier.  This was such an example.

99/100

WAKE UP WAKEFIELD

The Rachel and Maya duo are back.  Thats right; Im talking about Wake up Wakefield!  Its like Waynes World, except, kind of bad.

50/100

AND NOW HERE IS TONIGHTS VERY SPECIAL MUSICAL GUEST

I really used this period to catch up on some things.  Since I could hear it by the ear, I figured that Id give points based on what I heard.  It was okay.

89/100

SATURDAY NIGHT NEWS

This started off strong, but then it slid.  The thing that had me laughing was the opening joke on how Dean was as upset as Leiberman for Al Gore endorsing Dean.

John Mayer wasnt really that great.  I pretty much spent time focusing on whether people would get the points for their picks for how many people would appear on Weekend Update.

Fortunately, people got this right, but thanks to Bobby Brown, the focus on possible winners went from people who could use a win to people that already have.

80/100

VERSACE

Get out!

70/100 = Original score plus 30 for not being a long Versace skit

HOWARD DEAN

Thank you TPTB.  We finally see Darrell do something else besides Chris Matthews that doesnt suck!  Too bad Jeffs Howard isnt that sharp yet, but neither was Wills Dubya when he first used it.  Just so as long as Darrell doesnt end up playing Dean, barring the results of the 2004 election.

100/100 = original score plus 10

RIALTO GRANDE

It wasnt bad.  For one thing, Chris redeemed himself thanks to this.  However, there were some weak points, so Ive got to take off points.  Still, I didnt expect to see this again (at least this soon).

91/100

MUSIC

Great close to the show.  Of course, we know why SNL actually put the Music as the last act.

100/100

Total: 1015
Average: 84.58

It was a good show.  A lot of funny moments to weed out the crappy ones!  Unfortunately, some of the stuff that got cut shouldnt have, IMO.

Thats the review.  Have a safe and exciting holiday season.  Also, I dont even need to tell you what to do so that were all laughing (hopefully) at the Jennifer Aniston episode.  Take care and God Bless.
