SNL REVIEWS
I have a lot of reviews that I've done so far this year.  After six months of the existence of this new thread, I have make time to put them in its own separate page.  Well, on this page is one of many.  Enjoy
Jack Black/John Mayer
With Jack Black hosting, you know the show is not going to suck.  Or is it?

THE BEST NEWS OF THE WEEK

The Amazing Race is coming back to CBS next year!  Woo Hoo!  I so cant wait!  Of course, if I survive yet another season of the madness known as Saturday Night Live, then more power to me.

SPORTS

Apologies to all San Francisco fans!  Well theres next year!

MY GAME

With the new scoring system, or rather, which each thing being worth more, the scores pretty much rocked, and Im impressed at how nothing out of the ordinary happened to change the scores.

Im really tired.  Im just going to the review.

ARNOLD

It came as no surprise that this was going to be the cold opening.  Im surprised that several people chose not to put in a pick for this part of the show.  It was either going to be this or Chris Parnells Bush.  What a shame.  An opportunity to multiply your score by 10: Down the drain.  Anyway, back to the review of the Cold Opening.  While Darrells Arnold wasnt on point, the script for this was pretty funny.  Its nice to see a decent, not-so recurring plot for the opening of the show.

95/100

MONOLOGUE

You knew that Jack Black was going to give his all during the montage.  Despite no reference to the set (which BTW isnt THAT MUCH of a chance like the big change in 1995), he took this monologue and made it his own.  Even if Will wasnt in this, this still would have received a score of

100/100

HUGGIES THONG

This was messed up, but it didnt suck

83/100

QUEER EYE FOR THE STRAIGHT GAL

Nice parody of this.  I cant remember the last time that they did two different commercials back-to-back.

99/100

WADE

This is where Finesse made his debut.  While I can deal without another one of these, I believe that Finesses Boogie will surface somewhere again.  Jack Black and his dances helped this earn a score of

70/100

COOKING WITH SPECIAL GUEST FRED ARMISEN AS GABE

Once again, Gabe saved a cheesy ass sketch from being total crap.  I cant help but to think that either Fred should have been bumped up with or without Will, or Will should havebeen fired.

67/100

SNL TOONS

This was a cross between crap and The X-Presidents.  Speaking of the X-Presidents, I cant wait until 2005 to see that version of the X-Presidents.

80/100

AND NOW HERES TONIGHTS VERY SPECIAL MUSICAL GUEST

John Mayer.  All this time, thanks to Jacks mispronunciation of John Mayer, I thought I was the one that was mispronouncing the name.  But if I can recall very, very easily, it is indeed Mayer.  Jacks expression was pretty shocking after messing up.  Well, it shocked me, because if I can recall, that doesnt even compare to some of the other screw-ups on the show.

75/100

SATURDAY NIGHT NEWS

Well, the Rush Limbaugh stuff was expected.  It was nice to see Kenans Bill Cosby.  It wasnt all that, considering that anyone can do Bill Cosby.  They should get Amy to portray Bill; whatever makes the people laugh is legit.  One thing that stayed the same from 2000 was the set and the opening montage for Weekend Update.  I dont see them getting a new one until next year.  As for a new set, I dont think that they will either.  If they do, they should go for one where the city is behind them.  Other than that, everythings fine.

91/100

CRAP (ALSO KNOWN AS GUITAR CRAP)

WTF

60/100 Original score plus 60 because it was shoved into a part of the show where most people would have stopped watching

MUSIC

Bummer.  He didnt do the song that I know more than his others.  Seriously, if you think about it, theres no such thing as not performing your break out song.  Whatever.  Hell be back next month, without his band.

60/100

RED, RED WINE

This wasnt that good, sans the part where it became deliberate to nail Seth with the wine.  This seemed like crap that was written by someone from the 1994 writing team.

70/100 Original score times 2 plus 20 so that the overall score isnt too low

TELE (AND THE REST GOT CUT OUT)

Yawn.  Even the people who cut this due to time would probably not tell the truth and say that its getting late.

85/100 Only to be fair

Average = 79.62

It was an okay show.  I probably have to watch it again so that I can rate it better than I just did.  Anything can get cut the first time, just like my last review.  Anyway, its football season, so I have an excuse for a lackluster episode.
