SNL REVIEWS
I have a lot of reviews that I've done so far this year.  After six months of the existence of this new thread, I have make time to put them in its own separate page.  Well, on this page is one of many.  Enjoy
Matthew McConaughey / The Dixie Chicks
I guess I have to do that pre-review thing, don't I?

Football

I am so not feeling this AFL thing. I guess it's just me, considering the fact that I was not feeling the XFL two years ago. I'd rather watch Tampa Bay walk over Phili and Oakland 400 consecutive times than to see what they have to offer. Actually, I'd rather watch the pro bowl just once before any AFL. Enough about football; I'll worry about it in 6 months or so.

Hoops

JASON RICHARDSON!!!!! Yesterday's Slam Dunk thing was the greatest thing that I witnessed since The Lakers-Kings game from 5/26/02. Every year, just when you thought it can't get any better, it does. Either that, or it just doesn't suck like half of the All-Star weekend usually does. Well, Mikey's last All-Star game is tonight, so that will more than make up for any of the bad from this weekend's festivities.

Politics

The Republicans are still in charge again, and no one (myself included) is supporting a war with Iraq. Maybe it's because war is bad, or maybe several people don't want to fight for their country. I don't know. Not that it's wrong, but there are a lot of people that haven't earned the right for another individual to die for them. I've leave Bob and Nick to rant on that, and whatever else. I've got to get this done ASAP!

My Game

It's all tallied up. Hopefully I'll have the results tomorrow. I'll tell you know that one of the individuals who've played the game will not be leading in pretty much everything, after 8 games of doing so. Another individual lived up to the word that was said a couple weeks ago, seeing as how that individual was not too far behind. Finally, a third individual might not be happy with the outcome, and I feel sorry for the individual. Also, if you haven't played the game yet, feel free to do so! A lot of people in the past have said it was fun and it really made SNL somewhat more interesting!

The Show:

If there is something dealing with Saddam, Horatio is going to get a big role on SNL. When there was something dealing with Bush, Will got a big role. The same thing happened with Darrell when it came to Clinton, and Tim when it came to O.J. However, if there is something dealing with something that Dean is good at, somebody is going to find a way to make reference to that bit of material without including Dean in it. As a result, we're stuck with the recurring Jarrett's Room. I guess Lorne just doesn't care anymore, even though he still has two more years and 9 more episodes to go on his run of not giving a damn anymore.

And now, the review (that's a short one since I run a game that I have to tally up as well as writing the review ASAP if I ever decide to send a review to Sean Bradley.

Brief Review:

WHAT'S THE POINT IN DEAN EVEN BEING IN THIS OPENING?

I think that this would have been funnier had they not done the voice-over thing two shows ago. Like other people said, this went to long, and rather than cut it off, they go to Dean. But wait! He isn't worthy to start the show, so we go back to Chris (which was alright, since it resulted in a high SNL PG overall score). They show have thrown this into the middle of the show, and had a Peter Pan or Late Night Talk Show War thing in here.

MONOLOUGE

Hey, this was good, and I don't even need to give it an explanation, since, on top of the early part of it going nowhere, I'm about to give this a

100/100

TO TELL THE TRUTH

I'm not sure if this skit was supposed to be funny, or if it were to insult Rachel Dratch. If I were Rachel, I'd be more than thankful that Matt's guesses were not exactly accurate. It's funny how the 959 men thing didn't even have an impact on Matt.

70/100

THE NUTRI QUICK RERUN (I THINK)

I think that if you want a review on this, I'm sure that someone else wrote one in an earlier review from this season.

50/100

JARRETT'S ROOM

I remember when Parnell used to be in these. That's probably the reason why I actually used to enjoy them. While this was the third one in twice as many shows, Horatio had a 40 in his possession, which, along with the Dixie Chicks, saved this sketch.

88/100 (Plus the number of Dixie Chicks on the show times 3 plus 1)

PROTEST

I don't know. I guess this was watchable. Again, this would have been better off being in the cold opening than before the music.

60/100

MUSIC

Great stuff

WEEKEND UPDATE

At first, the Peter Pan joke was not going anywhere, but toward the end, I actually had to laugh a little. Tracy as Joe reminded me of when Eddie Murphy used to do impressions of his father during his stand-up shows. Like the Peter Pan thing, the Forte-Fred thing is one of those things that you laugh at, only because it's stupid.

93/100

CLUB TRAXX

I guess ten I'd disagree, but this sketch alone is better than what MTV has to offer today.

50/100

TROY GETS PLAYED

The first thing that came to my mind right after seeing Chris and Horatio in this was Nick Burns, and then after Tracy came around, I thought of the sketch when Horatio referred to Tracy as The Black Guy. Incidentally, both were on the same show, and both used the same set. Once again, Tracy is great as someone that isn't Tracy Morgan. Chris got what he deserved. I wonder if it was a joke the whole time, or if it was a sign for things to come.

95/100

SECOND TIME AROUND

I've got to give Maya some credit. While she isn't as good as some people thought she used to be, whenever she plays a character like this and doesn't break a smile or character, that's impressive. It probably would not have been 10 years ago, but it is today.

96/100 - plus the number of seasons Lovitz, Dunn, and Miller have been on the show

MUSIC

Yeah! 100/100

MATT'S CHILI

I wasn't going to comment, but Matt's appearance saved pretty much everyone from going over on their host's pick.

82/100

AVERAGE 81.85

This was a great show compared to most of the others. While it wasn't star material, this show goes to show that the world will not end without Will Ferrell on SNL. When this show makes it to SYN, the following will be cut.

SECOND TIME AROUND
TROY
MUSIC
PROTEST

Well, next week is Jennifer Garner, and I don't know what to expect there. Probably a TRL sketch, or maybe another Sully and Denise sketch, or possibly a Dude, Where's my Car parody. I guess well find out.
