In the event that normal circumstances do not go through as planned, I would put the same number of people for each castmember. However, it's a 50/50 chance that this would be a good thing. But, it will guarantee at least 2 points, so as long as it's not so high. For the host, you get credit for being within 2 without going over of the correct number of appearances. For the castmembers, it helps to know who's good or bad & popular or unpopular. For the musical guest, 80-90 per cent of the time, it's a given. They usually appear twice in the show. However, it helps to know how popular they are in the entertainment industry. Sometimes, the MG can make a cameo in a regular skit, or perform a third song. In addition, it's not everyone that performs two songs. So, be careful. For the special guest, on normal circumstances, there won't be any, or maybe just one person will appear. It helps to know of spoilers. However, if one guest appears twice, it would count as two. Therefore, it's not the easiest pick. However, on almost normal terms, a bunch of special guests will pop up on either the Season Premiere, the Christmas Show, or the Season Finale. For the LFNY, it's a given half of the time. The people that are usually either big, or regulars in the Cold Opening usually open the show. The president is a favorite of opening the show. Also, it helps to know of what's going on in the world. For the Cold Opening Capacity, anything goes. Again, it helps to know of what's going on in the world. For the most part, it's going to be one person (usually the president) opening the show. Beware of times where 2 to 3 people show up in the Cold Opening, sometimes 4-5. And every once in a while, there's the big bizarre Cold Opening where 6 or more people show up in the Opening Segment. For the Weekend Update Capacity, again anything goes. In the past, you had the 2 people (the WU anchor and the one correspondant) show up (moved up to three when Tina and Jimmy took over). Now, on normal circumstances, it's around 4-6, but has known to jump up to 7 or 8, like on Will's last show. It depends on what's going on in the world. Beware; sometimes no one shows up, and the WU Capacity will only be worth 2 persons. Remember, still photos and voice overs don't count. The only time the voice over counts is when he or she is saying the opening line to open the show. The earlier you get in your picks, the better (half of the time). You never know if you'll run into technical difficulties. Yeah, the longer you wait, the better, so that you can find out the inside dirt. But 1: It doesn't always stand, and 2: you'd lose the end tie-breaker rule. In the event of a tie, I will disregard the multiplier points. You'll still get the points, but if your original score was 10 and the other guy's was 6, you'd benefit from it all. If that doesn't work, then I check to see how close the two (or more) were toward getting the host's pick correct, without going over. If that doesn't work, then it goes as follows: who got the host's pick correct; who got the musical guest's pick correct; who got the special guest's pick correct. If none of those things work, then it'll go to whomever got in their picks the earliest. Anymore questions? |
