| SUPER MATCH | ||||||||||
| Barring the CBS version (where you have $100 after the win of each front game), the contestand has nothing, but that will change. There are two parts to the Super Match. There's the Audience Match, and then there's Head-to-Head. In the audience match, which is the first part, the contestant has a chance to win up to $500. They polled a recent studio audience, and they got their best response to this: (instead of a sentence, they got a 2 or 3-word phrase with one of the words being blank). The answer that the audience gave most often is worth $500, the second best answer is worth $250, and the third is worth $100. Like in the frontgame, the contestant must fill in the blank, and hope that they matched with the audience. Since it's not coming from the 6 stars, the contestant is allowed to get help from 3 of them. After 3 of the 6 give out his or her suggestions, it's then up to the contestant to choose one of the three answers or to choose one of his or her own. The money won here depends on how definitive the answer is. In the Head-To-Head segment, the second part, the contestant will have a chance to win 10 times the amount that was won from the Audience Match. Let's say the contestant won $500. Then he or she will be playing for $5000! The play is similar to the front game, except it's with one star, not all six. They have to choose Richard Dawson or someone else to match for the big money. Again, like the Audience match, rather than an entire sentence, they're give a 2 or 3-word phrase will on of the words being blank. It has to be an exact match. If he or she matches, then they'll win the $5000, if not, then they will still have the $500 that was won earlier. BTW, the money doesn't get converted into $5000. It gets added to the already-won $500, for a total of $5500! Later on, before Richard left and before the set changed, there was a wheel used to choose the stars for this part. On each wedge included a "star" that the contestant could land on in order to play for twice as much money. |
