After the forms where removed, they tore down the old deck. Mark had mixed emotions on this project. He had quite the time remove the decking. Dad had spaced the nails around each piece every three inches. This made the removal with a crowbar a challenge. He finally just took a power saw and made cuts on each side of a brace. This made the job go much faster. On the other hand, he had to admire the time and effort that dad put into the building of this deck.
