With no more entries left to come, the action in the ring intensified as Se7en came flying from the top with a forearm across the chest of Jay, Angel nailed Grell with a front bump DDT and then Angel delivered a low drop kick to Se7en. Following this flurry of manoeuvres, Angel attempted to push Grell to the outside but, whilst Grell was hanging on, Se7en sneaked in to clothesline the Devil woman over the top, Angel had been eliminated. Almost immediately after this, Sinner swung a roundhouse right in the direction of the commissioner but Miss Rebecca was able to duck and then push the man with the new bad attitude to the outside, Sinner had been eliminated.
Irrespective, the action in the ring kept on coming thick and fast as Grell nailed Williams with a crushing body slam, Iron man utilised a choke slam back breaker on Mori and Se7en delivered an S.K.O to Jason. The physical abuse suffered by Sensation then continued as he was subject to a Fame asser courtesy of Thanatos, however, Thanatos� luck was about to change as he was made to endure a scoop slam and a leg drop from Grell. After dishing out this punishment however, Grell was given a low blow by Hayden.
Hayden then focused his attack on Hornblower, whom he flap-jacked into a table. Williams then took a run at the staggered Blower, but much to the chagrin of Williams, Hornblower was able to back drop him over the top, Hayden had been eliminated. Elsewhere, Thanatos was busy performing an avalanche on Se7en, whilst the boyfriend/girlfriend combination of Moriarty and Miss Rebecca were busy delivering a double clothesline to Dave. After performing this double team manoeuvre however, Miss Rebecca began to chop away at her lover, only to be abruptly lifted to the outside by Moriarty, Bec had been eliminated.
With only eight men now left in the match, the competitors stepped it up a gear: Sensation delivered a side effect to Se7en, Grell performed Sweet dreams on Shaun and Moriarty utilised a fireman�s carry takedown on Thanatos. Following this, Daniels came off the better in an exchange with Grell after he chopped and eventually clotheslined the masked beast down. Then, Thanatos slammed Se7en down and went to the top in preparation for a moon sault.
Knowing this, Se7en rolled out of the way of what he expected to be a moon sault but Thanatos second guessed Se7en and landed on his feet. Hence, when Se7en turned back around, Thanatos was waiting for him with a clothesline over the top, Se7en had been eliminated. At this point, the remaining participants performed some more electrifying manoeuvres. Moriarty delivered a fireman�s carry into a gut buster on Thanatos, Grell utilised a gut wrench power bomb on Horn and then the tattooed brute nailed Thanatos with a tilt a world back breaker. The momentum of Grell was about to be cut short however as Iron man nailed his pal with a choke slam onto the table and then pushed him to the outside, Grell had been eliminated. Following this, Thanatos nailed Hornblower with a tombstone pile driver and then Dave removed Jason from the Rumble by Olympic slamming him over the top, Sensation had been eliminated. Straight after this, Mofo was bundled to the outside by Hornblower, Iron man had been eliminated. Now, only four men were left in the Royal Rumble. The final four action began with Horn giving Thanatos a taste of his own medicine with a tombstone, Thanatos however would not stay down. Matt soon came back with some offence of his own in the form of a flying clothesline and then a side back breaker to Blower. However, all three men then teamed up to push Thanatos over the top and to the arena floor, Thanatos had been eliminated. After this brief act of unity, Moriarty nailed Hornblower with a brain buster before being Olympic slammed by Daniels. Dave then went for the same move on Horn but the World champ countered and was able to deliver a bulldog to Daniels. Once back to his feet, Dave attempted to throw Moriarty to the outside but the veteran was able to land feet first on the table and keep his balance. Until Blower launched himself off Daniels� back and flew into the air with a drop kick aimed at Mori, Hornblower�s drop kick connected and his brother consequently fell to the outside, Moriarty had been eliminated. Immediately after this, the Royal Rumble was almost won as Blower attempted to backdrop Dave over the top but Daniels avoided elimination and then school-boy rolled Hornblower. Realising that there were no pins in a Rumble, Dave was forced to relinquish his roll up and consequently get clotheslined by Horn. Daniels however was soon back on the offence with an axe kick, that is until Blower mounted a comeback of his own with a suplex and a head butt from the top. Thinking that Dave was now done for, Hornblower attempted to toss him to the outside but Daniels managed to stay in the ring. Furthermore, Dave then grabbed an unsuspecting Horn by the scruff of the neck and then hurled him over the top, Blower had been eliminated. Hence, Daniels had won the Royal Rumble and, consequently, Dave will now get a shot at Hornblower and the World title. |
