| St. LCW Volume 13: 1st Taping Results Reported by Jim Boz The main event of the first taping of Volume Thirteen was a World title defence for the new champion, Hornblower. His challenger would be the man who had won the number one contendership for the World title at Tides of change, Father Johnson. However, before the match began, Hornblowers manager, Natasha Rider, had a few things to say. She began by claiming that St.LCW had been brought into a new era by the new World champ and thus a bigger and better version of the belt was needed to signify this. Natasha Rider then told us that her cousin Linzi was joining her as the joint manger of the World champ and together their business partnership is to be known as Natasha and Linzi P.L.C. With this news, the other half of N+L P.L.C came out with a new version of the World title in hand. Linzi then presented Hornblower with the shiny gold belt, but, Blower didnt have long to enjoy the momentum because Father Johnson, along with his fellow C.R.A.P. members, Arch bishop Hodgetts and Cardinal Yeomans, was soon on his way to the ring. Somewhat surprisingly this match began with the Father largely in the ascendancy; Johnson seemed to have Hornblowers number as he dominated him using manoeuvres such as a side headlock takedown, an armdrag and finally a high impact clothesline. The ex-P.I. was able to stem the tide of Christian offence however, by scoring a near fall with a nice pinning combination. Hornblower then kept the advantage in this big match by nailing the Father with a running forearm, a body slam and an elbow drop. Johnson however was far from done, and this became blatantly obvious when he decked Blower with a German suplex. Although this move only secured a two count on Hornblower, it did allow the Father to inflict further punishment on his opponent in the form of a scoop slam and a sleeper hold. Hornblower did eventually find a way out of this hold however with the use of an atomic drop, Blower then followed this up with a missile drop kick on the Father. Knowing that Johnson was now in trouble, the C.R.A.P. members on the outside tried to rectify the situation; Cardinal Yeomans distracted Hornblower by grabbing at him, and then Arch bishop Hodgetts decked flat top with a big shot. Not liking what she was seeing, Rider made her way over to the C.R.A.P. guys and slapped the Cardinal in the face. When Natasha went for a second slap however, Yeomans ducked and then gave her a back breaker. This led to Linzi coming over and delivering a further slap to the now bruised face of the Cardinal. After all of that palaver was over on the outside, our focus was switched back to the ring as Hornblower nailed his finishing manoeuvre, the bulldog, on the pray boy. Inevitably this led to a three count and Horn retaining his World title. However, things were about to turn sour for Hornblower, as he was attacked from behind by Thanatos whilst he was celebrating his victory. In an attempt to stick up for their client, N+L P.L.C then delivered a double low blow to Thanatos. The women were no match for Thanatos though; he soon wiped them both out with a double clothesline and then threw each of them to the outside. Toast then inflicted further harm on the fallen Blower, with an atomic drop into a sky-high. Thanatos then warned Hornblower that now he is the World champion, he is a wanted man. Thanatos then went on to add that with his main man Winnie Nobbe as commissioner, he is the main threat to John and his title. In order to hammer home his point, Thanatos then stood over a washed out Hornblower with the World title aloft, leaving us to wonder, is this a sign of things to come? |
