Bouncing Back

During Bodens tenure in St.LCW, he has had numerous disagreements with the varying powers that be. Most have been resolved without much fuss, while others have resulted in Boden missing screen time whilst differences have been worked out. But, whatever the circumstances, Boden has always bounced back and found a way to keep himself in the upper echelons of St.LCW. Bodens first difference of opinion with management occurred during the early part of his career. Boden was slated to be involved in an open invitational for the number one contendership for the Intercontinental title at the first annual Hell Freezes Over. But, not liking the sound of the idea, Boden decided not to wrestle at St.LCWs first pay per view, he instead appeared as a corner man for Apocalypse Al Smith.

This, however, did not cause a major problem as Boden returned to in ring competition at the next available opportunity. Nevertheless, the seeds had been sown for further instances of Boden taking his ball and going home. After then receiving a big push throughout Volume Three, management decided that they wanted to go a different way with Boden and his career. Thus, Boden was informed that he would be turning babyface, Boden was less than receptive to the idea and also disgruntled with the Venom incident which happened around the same time. With management refusing to budge on their demands and Boden sticking to his guns, a stalemate occurred. The result of this was Boden missing valuable camera time during the early stages of Volume Four. Realising that he was merely cutting his nose off to spite his face, Boden again bounced back and delivered a memorable face turn. Furthermore, soon after this, Boden won the I.C title.

Management were satisfied but Boden continues to push the heel issue to this day. However, going into Volume Five with a new booker in place, Boden settled into his role and performed admirably throughout that Volume and the next. The result of this was Boden winning the World title at Day of reckoning. As his championship reign stretched into Volume Seven however, Boden was guilty of playing politics again. Boden attempted to engineer himself his personally preferred opponent for the Dead on arrival pay per view. With management not bowing to Bodens demands, the Iceman was forced to work the title fodder that was handed to him. In fairness to the guy, Boden produced an excellent performance in the main event of Volume Sevens pay per view.

Further problems were down the line however for Boden, as a scheduled title drop to Thanatos was performed in an impromptu manner due to the uncertainty of Thanatos immediate future. Additionally, a scheduled rematch between the two never went ahead as Boden yet again did not work a pay per view, instead he made a brief appearance at the end of the Dave Daniels and Mai-Hem vs Jack Daniels match. Boden then went on to work a solid Volume against Dave Daniels and was looking in good form until a knee injury surfaced. This led to a different type of test for Boden, because this time he would have to bounce back from a physical problem rather than a creative difference.

Yet again, Boden did bounce back from adversity as he nursed his knee through Volume Ten and was given the commissionership at Lost Souls. Thus, Boden was given a highly visible on screen role throughout Volume Eleven without him having to push his knee to the limit. Once his injury was sufficiently cleared up, Boden dropped the commissionership and returned to in ring competition, primarily against Sid Justice. Due to Sids methodical style, Boden was able to get through Volume Twelve without going 100 miles an hour and, after their story line stretched to Volume Thirteens angle between Boden and Angel, the Icemans focus laid heavily on promos rather than intense physical action. Thus, although Boden has endured injury and creative disagreement, he has consistently bounced back in a fashion that has allowed him to remain in the upper echelons of St.LCW.
