Dallas, Texas Trip Continued....
Back
So we started to walk down the street to head to another museum when we found ourselves right on the street where Kennedy was shot. We met this lady who gave us a short tour & explanation of the event.
(right) Where the arrow is at is the window that the shooter was supposedly at.
(left) This kind of gave us "chicken skin!" The X on the street is where Kennedy was shot the first time. Mouse over the pic to see the other X in the street where he was shot the 2nd time. (right) It wasn't until 1993 that the city finally allowed a "National Historic Landmark" marker to be put in the area because they didn't want to be known for this tragic incident.
In the pic above, I said it was supposedly where the shooter was. Modern day crime scene investigators believe that there were several shooters & the pic on the left, at the orane spot, is one of the areas they think one shooter was at. People have noted on this fence who they think did it. One person wrote, "The FBI Did It." (right) This was our tour guide. A native of Dallas, she actually saw the whole thing happen.
Later we headed to another famous spot in Dallas, The Reunion Tower. It's kind of like the space needle where you can get a panoramic view of the city. It also has a restaurant that revolves. We had dinner there.
Our last night there, it officially snowed. It hadn't snowed in Dallas, TX in 20 years. The city had accidents all over the place. City trucks were trying to put sand in the streets so cars could drive, but they would slide and crash. (left) Patrick out in the snow, experiencing his first snowfall. :o)
