Catalina Trip November 27-28, 2005
Waiting for our boat to board at Long Beach Harbor.
As soon as we get off the boat, we take out the camera & start snapping away! We were amazed with the houses and how they were practically stacked on top of each other. Land is scarce to build on. ~~>
Press the "Click" to see the 2nd picture.
The story about this house is a gentleman was building this house for his fiancee who was on the main land in Los Angeles, when the house was ready he sent word for his fiancee to come. She never came, so he took his boat and paddled over there & found she had left him for another man. So he came back to his house & put a sign on his door "No Women Alloewed," and lived there alone til he died.
This house on top of the mountain is owned by the Stoffer family. Same family that makes the Stoffer meals. They say that they put as much taste in the house design as they do in their food... none. (ha ha ha.)
They say there are a whole bunch of buffalo all over the island, but this is the only one we found. ~>
Dinner on the boardwalk. Which was pretty much empty on a Sunday Night.
Pictures with our handy dandy digital camera with a timer! CHEEEEEEESE!!!
Ada Wrigley's house on Mt. Ada... Since her husband owned the island, she was pretty much able to do what ever she wanted, such as build her own house, plant trees & plants all over, & build a huge bird cage for birds she brought over
Our last picture atop Mt. Ada. We had a great time. VERY Relaxing!!
