Poem in a Tree

This note is less for explanation and more for background since I remember it so vividly. Some friends and I went on a cookout to a local park called Twin Lakes Park just east of Greensburg, PA. It was pretty cool, but I remember taking some time and wandering off away from everyone else. I ended up standing on a tree with twin trunks, shaped like a V and just staring up at the sun through the various levels of leaves and this just came to me. I guess it was my first "real" poem. Looking back, I'm still pretty happy with it insofar as it doesn't try to do too much, which a lot of people do when they start writing. A little scenery, a little realization and a little conclusion. Just a little bit of sunshine...
