Ontario Patches

Welcome to my collection of Ontario Police Patches. Ontario comprises the largest number of Canadian Police patches for me, out of all the provinces. This is largely due to the number of Police Services located in Ontario. Ontario is also has a large Provincial Police Service, better known as the OPP. They are located throughout the province and are the largest Police force in Ontario. The Toronto Police Service is the second largest Police Service and serves Canada's largest city. I am always looking to expand my collection of Ontario Police patches, especially any OPP Emergency Response Team Patches. Ontario also has a number of regional Police Services. These occur where member communities pool their resources to have one Police Service maintain their region, as opposed to paying for individual Police Services. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)

The Ontario Provincial Police Service hold the Policing Contract for Ontario, which the RCMP usually fulfill in most Provinces. They are Ontario's largest Police Service and are throughout the Province. Even municipalities who have their own Police Service typically have an OPP detachment to handle the Highway enforcement and in some occaisions act as back up to the municipal force.
