Here is my collection of Alberta Police Service Patches. The Edmonton and Calgary Police Services are the two largest Police Services in Alberta. There are several smaller municipal forces and many Constable Services throughout Alberta. Alberta also has several First Nations Police Services. Alberta's Police Services have a stong commitment to Community Policing and develop programs for those purposes. I have listed all the Provincial Peace Officer patches in one catagory with the other Constable Services found in the Province. I have also listed the First Nations Services in their own catagory.

Calgary
The Calgary Police Service is one of the largest Police Services in Canada. They were the first Canadian Police Service to purchase and use a Helicopter on a regular basis. The Calgary Police Service have named the Helicopter H.A.W.Ks. It is not only restricted to serve as a policing tool. It has been used in fire rescue operations and in fire supression. The Calgary Police Service remains a leader in Canada for using Policing technologies to better serve their community.

Calgary Emergency Medical Services
The Calgary Emergency Medical Services provides Ambulance Service to the City of Calgary and also assist surrounding areas in times of need. Over and above their regular service to their community the Calgary EMS personnel participate with the Calgary Police Service Tactical Team, fulfilling the role of Tactical Paramedics. This is the current issue T.E.M.S patch worn by members of Calgary EMS T.E.M.S. They are one of the few EMS departments in Canada to have a dedicated T.E.M.S Unit.

Camrose
The Camrose Police Service serves the a community known as the 'City of the Rose.' Camrose boasts a service of over twenty sworn members to serve the community. The Camrose Police Service also provides its community with the service of Police Canine coverage.

Edmonton
The Edmonton Police Service serves the Capitol of Alberta. The Edmonton Police Service recently joined their collegues in Calgary as a Municipal Police Service utilizing a Helicopter. The Edmonton Police Service puchased an Eurocopter EC-120B outfitted with the forward looking ifrared system. Edmonton has a commitment to bringing in all Policing technologies which could better serve their citizens.

Lacombe
The Lacombe Police Service consists of approximately 10 sworn members and has 2 Auxiliary Constables. The Lacombe Police Service serves a rural community of close to 10,000. The Lacombe Police Services is very involved in the Community and has several proactive programs designed to benefit the community.

Lethbridge
The Lethbridge Police Service serves the evergrowing city of Lethbridge. They are a full service Police Service and have expanded with their community to ensure the Citizens of Lethbridge always receive the best possible service. In 2003 the Lethbridge Police Service amalgamated with the Coaldale Police Service becoming the Lethbridge Regional Police Service.

First Nations Police Services
The various First Nations Police Services across Alberta have a large role in the ensuring the traditions of the Bands which they serve. The First Nations Police Services work within the First Nations Communities and encorperate the traditions of the First Nations People they serve into their own Policing Initiatives. These traditions differ between the Bands but the Police Services whos serve them always strive to achieve a balance between law and tradition. The Siksika Nation Police department listed is now defunct.

Special COnstables
Alberta has many Special Constable services throughout Alberta. The Provincial Government has Corrections Officers, Court and Prisoner Services (CAPS) Officers and Transport Officers to name a few. Also many County's and District Municipalities employ Special Constables to maintain highways and enforce Municipal bylaws, as well as Provincial Statutes. These services help to alleviate some of those duties from other Municipal and RCMP services.
