Untitled-XVIII : The Mirror

By:  sdna

I look into the mirror

And I see myself.

Yet I don’t see myself,

And there’s nothing wrong with the mirror.

I look into the mirror

And I see that black is white

And day is night,

For Love is war in the mirror.

I look into the mirror

And I see successful failure

Of which I am a successor.

For ambition is unreachable in the mirror.

I look into the mirror

And I see myself in half,

Torn by forces above my craft.

For two is not one in the mirror.

I look into the mirror

And I see oppression and hate

Brought forth by destiny and fate.

For there is no compassion in the mirror.

I look into the mirror

And do I see Love?

Is absence of hate Love?

I cannot ask the mirror.

I look into the mirror

And I see a Forest on fire,

The End of my ire.

What is this mirror?

I look into the mirror

And I don’t see myself.

Yet I see myself.

Stupid mirror.

Damn the mirror,

For it shows me what I am to be,

And what I cannot be!

And there’s nothing wrong with the mirror.
