Tie one end of a lond piece of raffia around the bottom of the broomstick. Take four or five stalks of the plants and place them against the broomhandle. Wrap the raffia tightly around the plants and the broom handle. Place another bunch of the plants next to the first and wrap again with  the raffia tightly. Continue until it seems full enough for your liking. When completed push the loose end of the raffia under the two last layers of the raffia using a stick or knife then tie. The broom is now complete.
Ritual
Use a gold alter cloth. Place a cornucopia in the center surrounded by leaves. Place two red candles behind the cornucopia for the God and Goddess. Have a chalice of wine or gape jiuce to the right and an apple to the left. Burn frankincense.

Kneal before the alter, head down, and say:

I am at the gate between light and dark as both are equal tonight. I am here to thank the Goddess and
     the God for their generosity.
Light both of the red candles. Pick up some of the leaves and let them slowly drop to the ground:

Leaves  fall, the days grow cooler, fruits ripen, seeds drop, and the wheel circles on.
Stand up and say:

Gracious Goddess of fertility
May I reap only what I have sown
So that I may plant the seeds of joy and love in the coming year.

       Gracious God of the grain
        May I too learn sacrifise
So that I may nourish those who need my help.

At this time sit and tell the Goddess and the God all that you are thankfull for. When you are done thank them and stand.
Hold up the chalice of wine:

Gracious Goddess of abundance
Bless this wine and infuse it with your love.
Take a drink of the wine then offer the rest to the earth.
Hold up the apple:

Powerful God of the Harvest
Bless this friut and infuse it with your love.
Take a bite of the apple then offer the rest to the animals.
