| Ritual Lay a green alter cloth across the alter. Place the cauldron in the middle. Have a green candle for the Goddess to the left and a gold candle for the God to the right. Cover the alter with sunflowers and roses. Hang a mirror above the alter so that the flames reflect in it. Fill a white pouch with lavender, chamomile, and St. Johns wort. Put all of your fears, problems, and sorrows into the pouch and tie it shut with a red string. Burn cedar or pine incense. Stand before the alter with your arms raised high and say: Now is Midsummer, the time of light I celebrate this time now Oh gracious God and Goddess Nature vibrates with your energy Now is the time of forgetting past cares Now is the time to purify Light the green candle: She is luminous She is white She is shining Crowned with light Light the gold candle: He is radiant He is bright He is rising He takes flight Pick up the herbal pouch: Lord of the sun Burn away the negative Burn away the hurtful Purify me through your light Ignite the pouch with the gold candle. Drop it into the cauldron to burn away. AS it burns say: I banish you by the power of the God and Goddess I banish you by the power of the sun, moon, and stars I banish you by the power of Earth, Air, Fire, Water When it has finished burning say: Great God and Goddess On this night of enchantment I ask for guidance In understanding myself and my world I ask for attunement with the energies Either sprinkle the ashes into a flowing stream or river, or mix them with water and sprinkle them onto the earth. Let the candles burn out. Follow with a feast of fresh fruits and vegetables and a bonfire. |
