CANDLES
                                                           Candle Making

2-4 pounds of paraffin or beeswax
Candle wicking
Candle dye or crayons
Spices and herbs
Scented oils
A small bowl
A large pot
A small can
Baking soda
A wooden spoon
Waxed paper

Fill the large pot with water and set to boil. Place the paraffin in the can and set this in the pot. Turn the heat down to medium. Use the baking soda to put out any fires.
While wax is melting add spices and chunks of the candle dye. Mix until evenly colored. Add 8 to 16 drops of the oil until desired strength of scent. Hold a length of the wicking and dunk into the wax several times, letting wax set on wick before the next dunk. When the candle is a good size hang it to set. Before it cools completely roll it on the waxed paper to smooth it. Cut off one end to a flat bottom. Dip twice more then hang to dry.
