Growing Moon April also called: Hare moon, Seed moon, Pink moon, Grass moon |
|
|
|
The name April comes from the Greek goddess Aphrodite, who is identified with the Roman goddess Venus. Because Easter sometimes falls in this month, the Anglo-Saxons and Franks called it Easter Month; of course, the word Easter comes originally from the name of the Pagan goddess Eostre, diety of spring, fertility, and new life. |

Waxing Moon: Learning from the night
Stand before your alter and raise your arms. Dark Huntress I call upon you You who are all that has been, that is, and that will be Teach me the Dark and sacred Mysteries For without understanding the dreams that lead to the inner door I am not complete Dreams are the night teachers of the Ancient Ones Teach me Cross your hands over your chest and wait for blessing. Silver Huntress, riding the pale clouds of midnight I greet your celestial light with gladness Beauteous Lady of the Night, I await the dreams you send Visions and magic lie within your realms of power Teach me the Mysteries |

Full Moon : Petitioning the Goddess of Love Burn rose incense and have rose petals on the altar. You also need a pink candle in a holder, a metle bowl, and a pink string long enough to tie around your waist.
Write on a piece of paper what you are looking for in love. Light the pink candle. My heart is empty Send one who will fill it with love My soul is longing Lead me to spiritual harmony My mind is dormant Fill it with fertility Pass the string through the incense smoke, then pass the paper through the smoke. Let there be a bond of love that holds us fast through time and space And draws us onward till we stand Heart ot heart, face to face Bind the paper to your waist with the string. Thank Venus for her help and prepare to listen to her advice, no matter how it comes. Then lay the paper on your altar tied up with the string. Extinguish the candle and leave everything there over night. the next night return to the altar. Light the incense and the candle again. Say outloud what characteristics you most desire. then light the paper from the candle and drop it in the bowl to burn. |

Dark Moon: Lady of the Sycamore
Cast your circle as usual. In addition to your regular tools you will need an ankh. Stand before the alter and say: The Moon is dark, and the goddess is near hail, Hathor, Lady of the Sycamore, Queen of the West The time of magic is high, and I ask your presence here. Reach out over the altar and move your hands away from each other, parting the veil. Behold, the goddess comes See her beauty in the star filled sky Hear her whispers within this sacred place Whispers of magic and instruction Hear the mighty voice of hathor in the evening winds Her words of wisdom and prophacy are whispers Whispers within this sacred place Bow your head in honor and hold the ankh to your chest. Hold the ankh up in the east From the East and the dawn skies come words of magic and power Great Hathor, I listen for your teachings Hold the ankh up in the south From the South and the noonday come action and purpose Great hathor, I listen for your teachings Hold the ankh up in the west From the West and the twilight comes emotional power Great Hathor, I listen for your teachings Hold the ankh up in the north From the North and the night skies comes the grounding to Earth necessary in all magic Great hathor, I listen for your teachings. Return to the altar and lay the ankh down. O Great hathor, I listen and take inot myself your offered words of magic and power. Place you hands on the altar and chant: I return through the temple Veil of Mysteries To stand once more within my own place and time Praise be to Hathor. Reach your hands out and close them together, closing the veil. Close the circle as usual. |
