Instructor’s reported they are still having to send renewal’s with a

                               copy.

GOOD OF THE ORDER: Susie Reese reported she is still providing classes thru the

JPA. So they are free if your Carrier is a member. Susie

gave out handouts of the classes available. Carriers not part

of the JPA may contact Susie Reese directly 619 593-0975,

                                              or e-mail [email protected].

An instructor asked for clarification on the “S” Endorsement

Letter for Mechanics. Kevin gave an overview of the

changes. A Written Notification Letter has been sent out by

the DMV for School Bus Mechanics and School Bus Driver

Trainees with a “Restricted School Bus Endorsement”.

Which allows them to operate a school bus if they posses a

valid class B driver license with a passenger endorsement,

as long as they do not transport student passengers. This

implements Assembly Bill 1748, which was effective

January 1, 2006. Any questions regarding the restricted

school bus endorsement, you may contact the Commercial

Driver License Policy section at (916) 657-6550.

GOOD OF THE ORDER Cont’d: Another instructor asked for clarification on

Assembly Bill 1052: Random Drug Testing for non-DOT

Drivers. Kevin shared he was at a meeting that included this

subject, Dano Rybar was present with a lawyer. There is no

real enforcement on this yet. At this point it is the

                                             discrepancy of the carrier.

Diane Turner informed the council that if there is any subject

an instructor would like clarification, or information on but

would rather remain anonymous, they can communicate this

to either Diane or Jeannette and they would bring the subject

                                            up for discussion.
