ARTICLE II

MEMBERSHIP, MEETINGS, ORGANIZATIONS, ELECTION OF OFFICERS

MEMBERS

All certified Bus Driver Instructors of San Diego County are members of the Instructors Council.


ASSOCIATE MEMBER

Any person or organization representative who is not a State Certified Instructor having an interest in pupil transportation safety.


MEETINGS


Instructors Council will normally meet on the second Wednesda of each month beginning in October and ending in May.

Council Officers and/or appointed committees may be called to special meetings by the President at any time. Notice of the meetings shall be given at least twenty four (24) hours in advance.

All Committees shall be subject to the call of their respective chairperson.

At each meeting the order of business shall be arranged by the chair.

Roberts Rules of Order, Revised Edition, shall govern the conduct of all regular meetings.

ORGANIZATION

The Instructors Council Officers shall consist of a President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer to serve for the year beginning in July.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

A Nominating Committee will be appointed by the President during the March council meeting. The committee shall consist of not less than two members of the Instructors Council.

All nominees shall be members of the Instructors Council.

A slate of officers will be presented to the Council during the April meeting. At this time nominations will be accepted from the floor.

At close of nominations, an election will be held by secret ballot.

The Nominating Committee shall count all ballots and compile the results.

Announcement of the new Officers will be made immediately.

Elective officers shall serve for a single (one) year turn or until their successor is elected or appointed. No officer may hold the same office for more than two (2) consectutive terms.

A vacancy in any office, except that of President, occuring between elections shall be filled by recommendations of the remaining officers approved by a majority of members present at the next regular meeing of the Council. Vacancy in the office of President is filled by the Vice President for the balance of the term or until a special election is held.
