Meeting was called to order at 10:05 a.m.

Merit did introductions. The minutes for Febrary 9, were approved.

The Instructor's Council consists of three Officer seats: President, Vice President and Secretary / Treasurer. If you would like to nominate an instructor for one of these three positions, please e-mail Marta Munson at [email protected] or  Anna Bleich at [email protected]. Please submit your nominations as soon as possible as the next council meeting is April 13, 2005..

PROGRAM:  Marta Munson gave a presentation titled "Red Light Cameras and You", which was good information and helpful, thank you Marta. If you would like a copy of the power point presentation Marta shared you can e-mail her.
REPORTS:

CDE: Bob Austin is retiring. His last day is June 30, 2005. A celebration of Bob's years of service will take place Saturday, September 17, 2005. (Information e-mailed from the "Office of School Transportation" on April 1, 2005 to "School Pupil Transportation");
The Celebration will take place at the Sacramento Hilton Hotel. Please email you name and address to [email protected] if you are interested in receiving an invitation. The new person will be announced by April.

New Classroom Manuel will be ready duing the Fall season. Remembre chapters V, VI, VII, VIII & XI were already done. (On March 28, OST emailed to "School Pupil Transportation" the training sessions dates and times, San diego county scheduled: October 17, 2005, Session # 1 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM or Session # 2 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM.

Anna reported on new Assembly Bills:
             AB 872 - which will require all incidents in regards to the health, wealth, well being, and safety of pupils on school buses to be reported to the CHP.
             AB 1256 - Medical Exam Report to inlcude Chiropractor as a doctor to perform the exam and sign the report.
             AB 1052 - Would require drivers of vehilces other than a school bus or school pupil activity bus who transport students to be drug tested.

CHP: East County will be closed for Cesar Chavez Day, March 31, 2005.

MOTOR CARRIER: None

CASTO: The workshop was very successful.            The next meeting is at La Mesa Spring Valley. Nominating Committee will be appointed.

Rodeo:   San Diego April 2nd, Northern April 23, in Stocton. Southern April 30 in Santa Anita. Championship, Memorial Weekend at the CHP Academy..

                Rodeo Books are out. They are on line at the State Website.

OLD BUSINESS:

IDLING REGULATION: Rick Lynch from Temecula did research on the idling Regulation. Any peace officer can enforce it. What will probably happen at the time since law enforcement already has a lot to deal with, i take the reports from call-ins. After several reports they will contact the carrier. If we have any more questions, Rick talked with Mr. Santos at (916) 322-2819.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

GENERAL DISCUSSION: Antonio Perez from San Diego Unified will be going to Sacramento in April.
                   At our next meeting, we will have election of Officers.
                   May Meeting: Installation of Officers and Honor Retirees.

GOOD OF THE ORDER: Opening at Vista for an Instructor.


TREASURY REPORT: $141.00 after 50/50 today.
