Meeting was called to order at 10:06 a.m.

Merit had to be out - Jeannette began with introductions.

Program:  Kevin Wedemyer did a presentation of "Computerizing  Your Training Records". Kevin provided companies with software programs and also offered to share a program he created and has used on Excel. You can e-mail him at [ [email protected] ]. This is very helpful, thank you Kevin.

REPORTS:

CDE: None

CHP: Live Scan being used in East County. The "Work History Form" has been revised. Make sure you obtain new copies. Please fax "Original" applications at least the day before (Wednesday for Thursday). The information has to be imputed prior to Interview and  fingerprinting.

MOTOR CARRIER: None

CASTO: Driver's Workshop scheduled for March 5, 2005 at the Westview High School, 13500 Camino Del Sur. This is a change in location. If you have any questions contact Debbie Shively at Cajon Valley School District, (619) 588-3669 or Cat at (858) 748-0010 ext 2058

                Mechanic's Workshop postponed. New date to be announced.

                CASTO Conference: March 19-21 at the Double Tree in Sacramento.

Rodeo:   San Diego April 2nd, Northern April 23, in Stocton. Southern April 30 in Santa Anita. Championship, Memorial Weekend at the CHP Academy..

                Rodeo Books are out. They are on line at the State Website.

CLASSES: Marta Munson from Vista needs help with Behind-the-Wheel, March 21, to April 1, 2005. Marta can be reached at (760) 726-2170 ext 2890.

OLD BUSINESS:

IDLING REGULATION: Rick Lynch from Temecula did research on the idling Regulation. Any peace officer can enforce it. What will probably happen at the time since law enforcement already has a lot to deal with, i take the reports from call-ins. After several reports they will contact the carrier. If we have any more questions, Rick talked with Mr. Santos at (916) 322-2819.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

GENERAL DISCUSSION: It was agreed to honor Retiree's in April. those known are Frank Klepach (SDUSD), Sharon Waterman (SDUSD), Stephen Howard (WS). If anyone knows someone else or other information please let us know.

At our next meeting, (March) we will [create a committee] for nominations for Officers.

April meeting: Honor retirees and [nominate officers] and vote in officers.

May meeting: Install new officers.

GOOD OF THE ORDER: Reminder: Effective February 1, 2005 the new Regulation 2485 Title 13 CCR, which limits idling not only for School buses for all diesel fueled commercial motor vehicles with a gross vehicular weight rating of > 10,000 pounds to 5 minutes. *This could include our School District's Maintenance and Food Services vehicles).


TREASURY REPORT: $121.00 after 50/50 today.
