Artwork I love
Although I've already listed off my favourite artists, I thought it was important to provide a list of my absolute favourite pieces of art, paintings and sculptures, for you to see for yourself. They are listed in no particular order.

Virgin Annunciate
Artist: Antonello da Messina
Created: c. 1476
Place: Palazzo Abatellis

I'm not exactly sure as to why I like this painting so much. It's simplistic and eerie. The first time I saw it, it struck me as familiar for some reason. Maybe I was the model in a past life! To see a larger version, click here.

The Vision of Saint John
Artist: El Greco
Created: 1608-1614
Place: The Metropolitan

I've always loved this painting. I was shocked to find out how huge this painting is when I visited the MET! I must've stared at it for over 15 minutes. The security guard eyed me suspiciously. To see a larger version, click here.

Madonna and Child
Artist: Duccio
Created: c. 1300
Place: The Metropolitan

I saw this painting in person at the MET as well! I absolutely love 13-14th century Sienese paintings, and Duccio is the master. It also doesn't hurt that gold is my favourite colour. To see a larger version, click here.

Piet
Artist: Michelangelo
Created: 1499
Place: St. Peter's Basilica

I know I'll get heat for this, but I prefer this sculpture over the David. It stimulates an intrinsic compassion inside me. I haven't seen it yet, but I will in May when I finally visit Italy! To see a larger version, click here.
