San Diego Democrats for Disability Rights Guidelines for Communication Among Club Members 1. We shall address and treat one another with courtesy, civility, respect and dignity. 2. We shall support and promote the FULL access and participation of ALL persons who wish to become members and/or support our cause. 3. We shall not use abusive or offensive language during the conduct of any meetings nor in our communications or conversations with one another. 4. We shall honor and respect differences of opinion with the understanding that our differences are not nearly as important as finding common ground and agreement. 5. We are community with a cause and we shall work to achieve our cause without causing harm, insult, injury or violence to one another or our opponents. 6. We are individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, cultures, language, opinions, skills, talents, and abilities and we dedicate ourselves and our assets to our cause know that WE are our most important asset. 7. We believe our most important rule is the Golden Rule. 8. We shall disagree but above all we are a comm-UNITY that knows that our UNITY is our strength. 9. Through our struggle to defend, protect and preserve our rights and those of others we shall act in a manner that makes us better human beings and citizens in the way we conduct our business, treat each other and resist our opponents. 10. We shall fight for what we believe and we shall endure no matter what the odds or the outcomes because this is at the core of being an American with a Disability.
