Conceived a few years ago, the Trust Fund finally became a reality when the Board, realizing its importance to the continuity of the SDC’s programs and services, finally approved its establishment in April 2000.
Through the Trust Fund, the SDC aims to achieve self-reliance in the coming years, with the view of assuring the sustainability of the organization programs and services for the street children, its prime beneficiary.
The Trust Fund consists of monies from donations, pledges, contributions, sponsorships, other such acts of generosity, or from income generating activities, which are managed by a Trust Fund Committee (TF Committee), composed of two members of the Board of Trustees and at least three members from the general membership.
The TF Committee is tasked to prepare an investment plan, approved by the Board of Trustees, which would assure high yield income from Trust Fund deposits and investments. The income or interests from deposits and investments shall be used to support the SDC’s various programs and services.
Should the SDC be dissolved, the monies from the Trust Fund shall be used for the purchase of wheelchairs, and such other needs of differently-abled but poor children.
